Keramo

Natural

Keramo is one of our stations located in the Bensa area of Sidama, Ethiopia. Named after the region renowned for its exceptional coffee, the station sits at one of the highest elevations in the area. It receives cherries from approximately 381 smallholder farmers cultivating coffee in and around Keramo, an area also known for its lush vegetation and ideal climate conditions.

The high altitude extends the maturation period of the coffee cherries, allowing them to develop slowly and concentrate their flavours. This slow ripening process is a key factor in Keramo’s distinctive cup profile. Local farmers are known for their meticulous picking, selecting only fully ripe, red cherries to ensure the highest quality. In recognition of this dedication, Daye Bensa Coffee earned a Cup of Excellence award in 2020 with coffee produced at this station.
